fallen giants

In honor of today’s coming of the Spring Equinox, Kithkin are very excited to present the music video for their new single Fallen Giants. Recorded and Produced by Shawn Simmons (The Head and the Heart, The Maldives, Lemolo) the new single will appear on Kithkin’s upcoming full-length album, which will be released in 2013.

The music video, filmed and produced by Ben Anderson and Sawyer Purman of Altrac Productions, was entirely lit using handheld flashlights.

Kithkin will be performing at Neumos on February 1st with The Grizzled Mighty, Rose Windows, and River Giant.

Many fellow Cascadian Warrior Bands have fallen prey to the vicious PosterGiant beast. This beast shambles about Capitol Hill, stapling over your posters the instant you put one up. Instead of your glorious signage, you return to find a poster for the Rammstein show at Key Arena three months from now.

Kithkin has never met a giant it did not also attempt to slay. So, Kithkin is attempting to thwart the PosterGiant by affixing Rune Planks onto the telephone poles with hammer and nail.

Some wizards found purpose for the Rune Planks as parchment for divinations.

abandoned

JANUARY 20, 2013

Last year, friends over at Seismic-Sound asked Kithkin if they would mind performing one of their rituals on the 10th floor of an empty brick building, abandoned downtown since before the Rise of Cascadia. In order to reach the 10th floor of the ancient sky rise, one had to operate a hand crank service elevator, up which Kithkin hauled approximately three large plants, one Wookie mask, and a number of crystals.

Once properly equipped, Kithkin performed a number of drum hymns, which our friends filmed and edited into the motion picture show below. The first song in the video, “Asunder,” will appear on Kithkin’s new album coming out this year.
